Targeting Red Snapper and King Mackerel in the Gulf fishing report coverpicture

July 7, 2026

Pensacola Bay - Santa Rosa, FL Fishing Report on 7th Jul, 2026

The summer season is in full swing, and the fishing in Pensacola is nothing short of productive. We have been spending significant time in the deeper waters of the Gulf, where the Pensacola offshore fishing has been consistently rewarding for our guests. What’s Biting Right Now Current conditions have been ideal for bottom fishing. Our recent Pensacola Red Snapper fishing trips have been highly successful, with anglers consistently reaching their limits on quality-sized fish. When we aren't targeting snapper, we are seeing a great deal of activity from grouper and triggerfish, which remain staples of our offshore catches. For those looking for a different pace, the trolling bite has heated up. King Mackerel fishing in Pensacola is excellent this month, with these hard-fighting fish showing up in good numbers near the wrecks and artificial reefs. We have also seen occasional mahi mahi encounters, providing high-energy action for anyone looking to add some color to their fish box. Tips for Your Next Trip As we move into the peak of summer, water temperatures are rising, which influences fish behavior. We are finding that getting an early start is key to staying ahead of the afternoon heat and ensuring the best bite. We continue to monitor the local Pensacola fishing reports to track these shifting patterns, allowing us to put our guests on the most active schools of fish. Whether you are looking to fill the cooler with snapper or prefer the challenge of hunting pelagic species, now is the perfect time to get out on the water. Our team at Native Son's Fishing Charters provides all the professional-grade tackle and local expertise needed for a successful day. Book Your Pensacola Fishing Charter Don't miss out on the best of the summer season. If you are planning a visit, reach out to secure your spot for a Pensacola fishing charter. Pensacola Bay - Santa Rosa, FL Fishing Report on 20th Mar, 2023

It's good news for all the fishing enthusiasts out there! The recent cold weather hasn't stopped the fish from biting. In fact, we had another successful fishing charter! During our Pensacola fishing trip, we focused on catching red snappers as they were in their prime season. We used different techniques to attract them such as live bait and artificial lures, and it worked like a charm. It was a challenging task to reel in the big ones due to their size and strength, but it made the experience more thrilling.
